“Dilip Kumar Saab is not on ventilator,” confirms his doctor

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to non-Covid hospital on Sunday for routine tests and investigations, after he faced breathing issues. His official account handle on Twitter has now updated that the thespian is not on ventilator but on oxygen support. “Dilip Saab is on oxygen support – not on ventilator. He is stable. Waiting for few test results to perform pleural aspiration : Dr Jalil Parkar, chest specialist treating Saab,” read a tweet from the veteran actor’s account.

Previously, ETimes had reported that Dilip Kumar was on oxygen support and was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation. His doctor had confirmed to us, “He is stable and not in the ICU. If all goes well, he may be discharged in 2-3 days.” The 98-year-old actor has not been meeting anyone since the COVID-19 outbreak. Saira Banu had earlier stated that the veteran actor’s immunity was low and therefore he was avoiding contact with outsiders.

Wishing the legendary actor a speedy recovery, Ayushmann Khurrana had shared a poem by Dilip Kumar on his Instagram story. He shared, “Dawa bhi, dua bhi auron se faslaa bhi/ Ghareeb ki khidmat kamzor ki seva bhi – Dilip Kumar” and added, “#GetWellSoon…#YusufSaab.”
