Varun Dhawan, who tied the knot with Natasha Dalal on January 24, got back to work soon after the wedding. A few days before the shaadi, as well as right after that, the actor started preparing rigorously for an upcoming project helmed by Amar Kaushik. The supernatural film requires him to be super-fit and agile, and for that, he opted for the animal flow workout to get into shape. The actor had even shared a video of his workout session on social media where he was seen imitating the movements of a crab, scorpion and an ape.

Talking about this interesting workout regime, which is gaining popularity, his trainer, Devrath Vijay, says, “Varun needed to look lean in the film and improve his movements, mobility and flexibility. This is where the animal flow workout comes in. I started training Varun in December.” The actor would work out three hours a day, with one-and-a-half-hour dedicated to weight training and the rest for the animal flow workout.

Elaborating on the training sessions, Devrath adds, “Here, there is no external weight or equipment involved. The idea is that you mimic a certain animal’s movement pattern, which improves not only your flexibility, but also your mobility and strength. With mere gym training, one’s body tends to get stiff, but since the project required him to be agile, we decide to try this out.”

Interestingly, the actor had also mentioned in his post that the workout helped him regain his stamina after he recovered from COVID-19. The fitness trainer explains, “This technique leads to better mobility as it opens up the body, which in turn helps you breathe better. The workout coupled with proper nutrition helped him regain his strength and get fit again.”
